FAL.....
What would you want one of them for.

You need a SLR....L1A1. Semi only.
Oh go on then - let's see a couple of pics, was nice to get my hands on the L1A1 pre-game TEHL
note to self - stop thinking of buying a whole loadout based on the 1 or 2 items you currently have spare.
Good new's 2 non WW2 loadout's, will be completed soon - just waiting for delivery of 2 pairs of boot's for 'NAM
Yup, same here...
I thought I was bad, but those are the very wordss our Tom lives by!

Haha, I'm lucky if I have one or two items spare when I decide on a new loadout
I tend to buy a new loadout to match an AEG.
Although recently with wwii stuff, for either axis or brits once you have webbing, helmet, boots and trousers you only need to change tunic and soft hat to get a totally new look.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yeah, that's how I'm taking it.
Well, when I read about this game I had 2 spare US LC1 pouches in my cupboard from back when I started airsoft. I now have a PASGT helemt, woodland BDU and full LC1 webbing. I think I was just looking for an excuse. Just looking for a PASGT vest now.

Glad I'm not the only one, when I first saw this thread all I had was some 80's british combat boots, I've now got a 85 DPM smock and a full set of 58 webbing including a browning holster and a L1A1 bayonet, and I'm currently looking at the star L1A1 as well as a set of genuine wood furniture for it, once I've got that sorted I'll just need to get a Mk6 helmet and cover and sone 85 dpm trousers, if I can track any down in my size (XL
).
SLR was plastic stocked, wasn't it?
Later ones were, early ones had wood.
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
I seem to remember someone (Major I think) telling me that some had a mix of wood and plastic.
As far as I can remember the ones I used in the airforce, (1977-1981), were all wood, that's why I want to convert mine once I get it
Just read the write up of Stars SLR in Aprils AI sounds the mutts nutts
Damn, I think this means I need an M16! Didn't think of that. I'm told you can get a Chinese JG "M16A1" (which for some reason has an M16A2 body) and fit a G&P M16A1 body - i have one of those on my XM177. I think M16A2 were actually issue in 1987 but I can use an A1 for a late Vietnam US loadout, maybe just change the flash hider. Ah... I suppose that means I'm not selling the 'nam loadout to make room/get cash to pay for the Lee Enfield project. Doh!
Unfortunately, I have also gotten excited and started spending money
On the plus side, with the new lightweights and wooly pully I can look just like my old Action Man Just need to sell another kidney for an SLR.
Has there been any further progress on firming this up as an event?

Of course, if you're doing a realistic re-enactment of Operation Flashpoint The Game, you only need about 6 nato soldiers.
Unfortunately, for the red army, you're going to need at least an infantry company or two, plus armoured and possibly helicopter support.
Preferably there should be at least one more tank than the Nato team have rockets, so that they also have to assault the enemy base to steal AT guns to complete the mission.
Plus the Nato team should only get three lo-caps each, thus ensuring there are literally more enemy soldiers than they have bullets and encouraging (read forcing) them to scavenge the battlefield for dropped guns and ammo.
Operation Flashpoint - first five missions - best infantry combat simulation ever. The rest (including expansions and ARMA) utterly ruined by stupid stupid way too hard level design. For example, penultimate mission - Bad Guy about to launch a nuclear weapon - Nato response - let's send one squad of 10 men against a whole armoured battlegroup - good plan.
Diatribe ends.
Back to Gadge's thread.
Ooo more excuses to play ruskies (ok a bit more modern but meh). Count me in
No longer involved in airsoft.
Just wondering if there was anymore progress on this?
